Foreword
We are thrilled to announce the results of the second edition of the Sensory Museum Design competition, organized by Archiol. This competition has been a remarkable journey into the fascinating world of sensory architecture and its profound impact on human psychology. Through this competition, we sought to explore the boundless possibilities that exist within the realm of sensory design, and we have not been disappointed.
The response to this year's competition has been overwhelming, with participants from diverse backgrounds and regions, each bringing their unique perspectives and creativity to the forefront. The entries we received demonstrated a profound commitment to pushing the boundaries of architectural design, blending innovation, sustainability, and a profound awareness of the human experience.
As we announce the results today, it is important to acknowledge that every participant has contributed to the broader conversation about sensory architecture. Your vision and dedication have not only enriched this competition but have also inspired us to continue exploring the uncharted territories of architectural design.

JURY COMMENTS
This entry appears to have understood the brief well and designed accordingly; allowing the sensorial experience of the spatial dimensions mirror the human journey. Very interesting concept and form development. Thought provoking and appropriate. I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this entry.
-Sunanda Satwah
Highly original and creative concept. Design philosophies are artfully communicated through the overall architectural compostion, both externally and internally through the exhibition design. The contrast between the minimal external aesthetic and the sensory richness of the interior is an excellent reflection of the core design philosophy. A more diverse consideration of the sensory experience could have further enhanced the design.

JURY COMMENTS
Concept of reviving incense culture through a sensorial terrain is an interesting and thoughtful concept. Graphic narrative is well detailed and indicative of the various sensorial explorations.
-Sunanda Satwah
Great fusion between sensory experience and heritage, evoking a temporal factor to the experience through a well-considered sustianable intervention. Sensory engagement and overall user experience is well developed through the main ideas, with clear manifestations in design and circulation. Illustrations do an excellent job communicating design intent.

JURY COMMENTS
Incredibly interesting narrative, graphics and imagery. I enjoyed the tactile and aural explorations added into the spatial journey, and the engagement of all senses, including the gently guiding scent of cherry blossoms.
-Sunanda Satwah
Philosophy underpinning design is complex and intricate, drawing on myriad influences, enhancing the design. However, a clearer synthesis of these disparate ideas could have aided in presenting a more coherent narrative. A comprehensive treatment of sensory stimuli, especially within the interior spaces, is used to its full potential.

Engaging narrative and a promising concept true to design brief. Very well-conceived and demonstrated through the layout and graphics. Good work.
-Sunanda Satwah
General design premise is innovative and well fleshed out, and pervades the design internally and externally. Attention is given to the diversity of spatial experience to great effect, but a consideration of the diversity of means evoking such experiences, through a wider consideration of sensory inputs, could have further enriched the user experience.

JURY COMMENTS
Interesting spatial exploration while relating to a cinematic narrative of loneliness. Very zen-like, minimalistic and profound.
-Sunanda Satwah
Narrative behind design is well thought out, tightly woven, and well-articulated architecturally. The site and surrounding context plays an integral role in the design narrative. Considering this, a more diverse consideration of sensory engagement using different sensory inputs could have further enhanced this narrative and the overall user experience.

Interesting concept and associated choice of site. Well developed, though could have benefitted from an engagement of all senses.
-Sunanda Satwah
Excellent use made of surrounding urban context, and core design philosophy compliments the design well. However, more attention given to interior spaces could deliver an aesthetically richer experience, and a more holistic use of different sensory stimuli could have aided the overall design intent.

JURY COMMENTS
Every now and then someone comes along and turns an idea on its head, to give it a fresh perspective. I was pleased with what the group tried to achieve with the museum of inclusivity. However, despite being a great concept, it wasn't clear how the intended outcome would actually be achieved.
-Sunanda Satwah
The focus on the experiences of those with sensory deprivation is unique and forms the basis for an intriguing design. Further refinement of this concept, and its architectural expression, could enhance the design further by incorporating bespoke blends of specific sensory stimuli to reflect these overlooked experiences.

JURY COMMENTS
Interesting concept and form development, but needs better clarity on how the spatial geometry correlates to the sensorial experience or even exploration of the moon/ night.
-Sunanda Satwah
Concept centred on the heterogeneity of form from the inside and outside is well done and presents an innovative and original formal arrangement for the internal spaces. Other sensory experiences and design ideas could have aided in further refining the overarching design idea.
